In most cases, affiliate marketing campaigns do not run forever. There are some exceptions, but most advertisers will stop trying to promote their product or service at some point. An archived link is an affiliate link that does not generate any more commissions. It ensures that the advertiser doesn’t send payments to the affiliate or the network for any leads that are generated.
Archived links can be beneficial. Typically, the link still works and can be used by your visitors to check out the product, company, or service that you were initially promoting. As a result, you don’t have to take down your post. You can keep the post up and continue to provide your audience with valuable information and build credibility.
Of course, you’re also free to take out links or delete the post entirely. Once the link has been archived, you are no longer responsible for promoting the product.
