The cost per action, or CPA, is how much the affiliate program or merchant will pay website owners each time their visitors perform a certain action. Most often, the CPA refers to a sale. Though, some affiliate programs also pay for other types of conversions, such as program signups or clicks.
The CPA will vary based on the program and the required action. The terms of the CPA can usually be found within the affiliate agreement. Affiliate networks automatically record conversions and payable actions through the unique affiliate link.
